Wednesday Evenings at the Shelter - Contact the Kalamazoo
Humane Society at 269-345-1181 and become a volunteer to help us on
Wednesday evenings from 4-7:30pm. You will be helping save
lives by assisting potential adopters handle the animals, as well as
giving the animals at the shelter much needed attention.
Join SOS (Save our Strays) - SOS
is a volunteer group that comes into the shelter a few times a week
to help us take pictures of the animals to put on
PetFinder.com.
While SOS is taking the pictures, they walk the animals, give them
attention, and help them 'primp' before their photo shoots.
SOS also does a lot of fundraising for the shelter. You can
visit the SOS website at
http://www.saveourstrays.net/.

Feel free to start your own
fundraiser! So far, we've had a lot of donations made by
people who came up with their own idea and followed through.
Here are some of the ideas people have come up with:
- Bottle Drives
- Class room contests for the most
donations
- Walking dogs
- Bake Sales
The girls in the picture to the
right raised money for the shelter by walking dogs all summer long!
This type of enthusiasm is exactly why we believe we can raise the
funds for this shelter without having to raise taxes. We know
that we have the support of our community and this is the time to
show it!

By helping spread the word of the
current shelter situation and what our ultimate goal is, you're
helping to make people aware that we do need help! |
